Starr provides two personalized behavioral health services with goals of making it easier for employees to access quality care at low or no cost, while offering the flexibility to serve diverse employee needs.

myStrength Plus

Starr provides this benefit at no cost to you! MyStrength Plus, provided by Teladoc, provides a full spectrum of convenient and personalized mental health services — from professionally delivered crisis management, clinical care and coaching — to digital programs designed to be assigned and self-conducted. It’s part of a whole-person approach, provided by the partnership of Livongo and Teladoc, that makes it easier for you to access the care you need in the privacy of your home.

How to access care:

Download the MyStrength Plus app from the iPhone App Store or Google Play. Register and answer a few questions about “How you’ve been lately” and “How we can help.” It’s that easy to get started. For more information, visit Teladoc Health.

Talkspace/EAP

Talkspace and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provide online therapy that allows you to work with a licensed therapist from the convenience of your phone or computer. You can message your therapist (via text, phone, or video) for emotional health counseling and support as often as you wish, any time of the day or night. You select who you will work with from a list of therapists from the Talkspace network of more than 5,000 credentialed and licensed providers.

Talkspace assists with diagnosed conditions like: depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use disorders, as well as emotional health counseling and support for everyday emotional wellness needs like relationship issues and workplace stress.

Provided by Aetna’s Resources for Living/EAP, you simply download the app and register to receive services. Your first 8 sessions (annually) will be free of charge! After that, sessions will be covered under your Starr Aetna medical plan (if enrolled), subject to your plan's copay or deductible/coinsurance (depending on your plan).

To access care:

  • Call the EAP at 1-888-238-6232 to request Talkspace and to set up your authorization.
  • Visit Resources for Living. You’ll be guided on how to access and download the Talkspace app and set up an account. Register and take a brief, automated online assessment (two minutes or less). Within 48 hours you’ll be assigned a therapist..
